About the project

The city we live in are full of sensations. Some places are like magnets, pulling us in with their breezes, music and other features, while other places push us away with their heat, noise and nuisances.

How do you feel about the place you're in now? Or the neighborhood you visited a couple days ago? We'd like to find out!

Through this website, we collect responses from people across Singapore about their perceptions of different places, in terms of thermal comfort, sounds, and neighborhood change. We then map out these responses in interactive digital maps.

If you wish to participate in our short, anonymous survey, you will be eligible to enter a lucky draw, where we pick three winners to receive a $20 NTUC voucher.

This website is as part of a research project 'Crowdsourcing Perceptions of Urban Environments' by a team of National University of Singapore (NUS) researchers (see below).

In this project, we explore ways to gather data on spaces and urban characteristics that act as environmental stressors, or that provide positive benefits to one's overall health and wellbeing.

Collected responses will be used for mapping purposes, as well as for further research.
